"I recommended John for my sellers, an old colonial on the eastern side of the county. The parcel was quite large, at one time the former owner buried a gas tank for his personal vehicles and for the farm machinery on the property. Upon his passing, his daughter inherits the property. She continued to reside there for a cumulative family ownership of approximately 60 plus years.
As the offer is progressing its natural course the daughter of the current owner calls me and tells me about this buried tank her Mom failed to mention and no one alive knew anything about. I called John and explained the situation and told him the seller would make this right but had very little to tell about the tank. All we knew was approximate location and that it was around 50 years old. This delicate operation from testing to clean up was now his to fix. The spring of 2009 my elderly parents were looking to make a purchase and were told "there might be a tank on the property" well that sent up red flags in my mind as everyone was unsure where it could be. With a simple call to John he was there the very next day to "locate" the tank. John was so fast, efficient and courteous to this elderly couple. He took the time to explain what was necessary to fix the problem. Even with not buying the property, (the owners did not want to make any concessions about the tank and problems concerned with it) I feel I was educated in what to look for and the big questions to ask. I had commercial underground oil tanks that were old (40+ years), and I needed them removed or certified. I called Tank Goodness and explained what I needed. He explained what he would do and I said "OK do it". He did it and got DEA or DEC or whomever to approve it. There wasn't any add-on or further discussion. My problem was solved, I paid him the amount agreed upon, we smiled and problem solved.
